I can't even get the popup showing the code to give MS on the phone. that Belarc Advisor no longer shows a Key for my Office 2010.

Please make sure you selected the appropriate country/region. Instead of doing a full uninstall/reinstall, I'd recommend you call Microsoft to fix the activation issue. Now we understand the issue more clearly. Previously it always showed the correct Key and activated. Also, I run Belarc Advisor periodically, today it shows Office as having No Key and Not Activated. My laptop creates an automatic restore point each time it starts up. Think it might be cleaner to uninstall then re-install.Įxcuse me rabbiting on about this, but I wanted to clarify why I want to completely uninstall first. So rather thatn messing around trying to install without uninstalling the existing one, I My Key was verified on the download webpage allowing me to do the download. I want to de-install the existing Office and re-install from a downloaded install file. I used my legit KEY but that did not work. I have a big RED bar across the title bar of all my Office apps. Then decided to tell me that it was not activated. Everything appeared to be OK until about 2 months ago Office I subsequently had to do an In-Place upgrade to repair all the things that the update had broken. Tech in the store installed Office 2010 Pro for me and activated it while I waited.Įverything was OK until the Creators update was automatically installed which broke a few things. I explained to the techĪt the store that I had Office 2010 Pro installed on my VAIO but the disc was 100 miles away and I did not want to go to all the bother of installing it then dealing with MS on the phone or wherever to get it activated. I still needed a laptop so agreed on a trade for a Surface Book right there and then. They agreed that it was not repairable and offered me a full refund of several $k. It developed a mechanical problem and I was advised by MS Tech support to take it toĪn MS store and have them check it out which I did in July 2017. Actually it was not quite a purchase, I had a VAIO laptop purchased from MS the previous year. I purchased a New MS Surface Book from the MS Store in Orlando last July. Maybe my agony will be of help to others. I was on the point of installing LibreOffice if I could not fix the problem today.Īny changes, I will let you know. At least MS is back in my good books again, for now. With the install when I ran Belarc today it showed two installs, one with the correct key and one with no key. You could have knocked me down with a feather.

Laptopĭid a restart, I found that none of my office shortcuts worked, so i opened Word from the start menu, checked it's status in "help" and it showed "ACTIVATED". Hmmm.It showed one install for today and one for some months ago so I uninstalled the "older" one. I could not believe my eyes when I opened Programs and Features. So I decided to uninstall then re-install. I decided to install again without uninstalling the existing one. I ran the install today, it took my key without any errors, the install completed but the install would not activate, it said my key was invalid.Ī funny thing happened on the way to the Forum. Before I did the download a week or two ago, the MS site had me enter my Key which I did and which enabled me to do the download.

Then without uninstalling I did an install using the file I downloaded from MS. Is it a trail version of Office 2010 licence the tech in the store activated for you? >The tech in the store installed Office 2010 Pro for me and activated it while I waited.
